Krillion Infinite

Krillion Infinite - The daily word game where the obvious answer loses

Launched today

Krillion Infinite is a completely free browser-based daily word game that rewards obscure, uncommon answers instead of the obvious ones most players submit. It serves casual players looking for a quick, ad-free, no-account game session that takes roughly four minutes to complete. All users get the same seven prompts per day, with scoring that ranks answers by how few other people have typed them to reward creative, original thinking. It requires no downloads, payments, or signups, and works seamlessly on both desktop and mobile browsers.

Core Game Overview

Krillion Infinite runs entirely in your web browser with no required accounts, downloads, payments, or advertisements. A standard daily dive takes approximately four minutes to complete, and all players around the world get access to the same set of seven prompts every 24 hours, which reset at 00 UTC.

All answers are scored on a reverse system that rewards less common responses, rather than rewarding generic, widely known correct answers. Obvious top-of-mind answers such as "cheddar" for a name-a-cheese prompt pay only 10 points, while far less common valid answers such as "taleggio" can pay up to 85 points, with a 100-point tier reserved for the single rarest designated answer per prompt.

Standard Daily Dive Workflow

  1. Press BEGIN DIVE to start, and a 25-second timer activates immediately for the first prompt.

  2. Type any valid answer and submit it. A correct answer ends the round, and you receive points tied to how few other players submitted that exact response.

  3. Incorrect submissions only deduct a small amount of time from the current round timer, rather than ending the round entirely, so guessing is encouraged as a valid play strategy.

  4. You complete seven rounds total. At the end of the seven rounds, your final performance is displayed as a depth measurement in metres, assigned to one of five water-themed bands, and generates a shareable emoji summary you can send to other players.

Krillion uses loose answer matching that accounts for small differences including missing accents, spelling variations, plural forms, and regional spelling differences such as British vs American English, so you are scored on the idea of the answer rather than perfect spelling under pressure.

Scoring Tiers

There are six distinct scoring tiers that all accepted answers fall into, each mapped to a specific point value and corresponding depth measurement:

  • Plankton: 10 points, 40m depth, for the handful of obvious answers nearly all players submit first

  • Too Clever: 15 points, 60m depth, for the widely known "obscure" answer that many players intentionally pick

  • Schooler: 30 points, 120m depth, for common but not top-of-mind answers

  • Rare: 60 points, 240m depth, for genuinely uncommon answers that very few players think of

  • Deep Cut: 85 points, 340m depth, for extremely obscure answers that almost never appear in standard player lists

  • One in a Krillion: 100 points, 400m depth, for the single hidden rarest answer assigned to that prompt

Total dive depth is calculated by converting total points to metres at a rate of 1 point = 4 metres. The five performance bands are Shallows, Schooler, Thermocline, Deep Cut, and Trench. A perfect 700-point full dive would reach 2800m, a level that very few players ever achieve.

Krillion Infinite Unlimited Mode

The separate Infinite game mode removes the seven-round daily structure and replaces it with a single 45-second air timer that only drains while you are typing your answers. Every correct answer adds more air back to your total: a One in a Krillion answer adds 16 seconds, a Deep Cut adds 12 seconds, and even a low-point Plankton answer adds 8 seconds. Prompts are selected randomly from the full library of available prompts, and the run only ends when your air timer runs out. This mode has no daily play limit, and tests your ability to name rare answers as quickly as possible rather than over the course of seven 25-second rounds.

Content Library

As of current publication, Krillion hosts 210 total unique prompts with over 29,000 total hand-checked accepted answers, averaging roughly 139 answers per individual prompt. The largest answer bank for a single prompt contains 267 distinct valid responses. The game actively logs rejected submissions from players to expand and correct the answer library over time.

Supported Platforms

Krillion runs on all standard desktop browsers, and is fully optimized for mobile browser play with no required installation. Your game progress is stored locally on your device, so you can close the tab mid-dive and return later to resume playing.
